Soak rice 10-15 minutes for extra length (optional)
1 cup of Daawat® Traditional Basmati Rice
2 cups of water
1 tbsp. of oil/butter (optional)
pinch of salt (optional)
Stove Top: To remove excess starch from rice, rinse Daawat® Traditional Basmati Rice 1-2 times and drain. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in sauce pan with tight fitting lid. Add 1 cup rice, cover and simmer. Cook for 20 minutes* or until water is absorbed.
Microwave: Combine 1 cup rice and 2¼ cups water in a microwave-safe tray. Cover tightly with microwave-safe lid and cook on HIGH power setting for 15 minutes*. Remove from microwave.
Electric Rice Cooker: Combine 1 cup rice and 2 cups water. See rice cooker manual for specific operation.
