Description
Origin
The name Jaljeera is derived from two words - ‘Jal’ that is water and ‘jeera’ that is cumin seeds. This cumin-based summer drink is essentially a North Indian beverage that was made to aid digestion as well as cool the body. At times it is also served as an appetizer before meals.
Cooking Uses
Jaljeera Powder, besides being consumed in India's version of lemonade, can also be used in various chutneys and chats to add a sour flavour.
